Michelle has been competing in kayak races for over 15 years. She is the current K1 Women’s National Champion in white water slalom, and a past member of the U.S. Kayak Marathon Team, and the Austin Lady Bats Kayak Polo Team (placing 2nd at Nationals in 2005, and 2008!).  She is a three time Junior Olympian, placing 4th in 1998.  Michelle is a USACanoe/Kayak Level 1 coach and and American Canoe Association Whitewater certified instructor. She has honed her instruction skills by developing the kayak curriculum for Texas State University and working with instructors at the University of Texas as well as developing instruction for the Olympic Outdoor Center that she helped to start. She is a head coach for the Red River Racing Team Junior Olympic program, and a head instructor for the Power Olympic Outdoor Center. Michelle is currently training to compete for  the U.S. National Whitewater Team. She is a member of Team Braca-Sport and Team Spokiz!!
